With John Kerry's pick of John Edwards yesterday, you can pretty much figure that Kerry has written off the War on Terror. Unless, of course, his master plan to fight terror involves some kind of class action suit against Al Qaeda.
Indeed, Kerry has obviously made his choice - style over substance:
In announcing Sen. John Edwards (N.C.) as his vice presidential running mate yesterday, Sen. John F. Kerry added one of the party's brightest stars and most talented campaigners to the Democratic ticket, but he left himself open to criticism that he had passed up candidates with far more experience for someone who lacks a significant legislative or executive record.
In a related display of style over substance, I happened to hear part of Kerry's speech to the African Methodist Episcopal Church conference at the Indianapolis Convention Center yesterday. There was a word Kerry used that illustrated just how far Kerry goes to ingratiate himself with whatever audience is in front of him.
The word? Y'all.
No self-respecting Yankee ever uses that word. Then again, maybe that guy on the tractor taught Kerry that word at the same time the twelve year-old Kerry learned his first swear word.
Or even the word "y'all."
