On the back page (of course) of Section A of the Atlanta Journal Constitution is an article headlined "Nerve gas believed discovered in Iraq". The second paragraph of the article has this (emphasis mine):
The incident, which happened in Baghdad in the past few days, could be the first discovery of a "weapon of mass destruction," a broad range of munitions that the Bush administration cited as a main reason for the invasion of Iraq last year.I know it was only a year ago, but I seem to remember that Saddam Hussein's refusal to fully comply with U.N. resolution 1441 as THE main reason for the invasion of Iraq. One supposes that the ethos of the main stream media would not allow them to blame anyone other than President Bush for the invasion of Iraq.
Hi Perimeter,
Remember me? From the ChiateaLatte post on UNSCAM and lack of coverage in my hometown paper?
Thought I would check out your site and Im glad this is your current post. My paper has zero mention of serin, artillery shells, or WMD, to date. You would think the lefts primary talking point (no WMD found) being proven false would at least rate a mention.
Your paper is a 100% more honest then mine. Now isn't that a giggle. You have to laugh or you might cry. Its so sad to find this out about the only paper in town.
By the By Im from California. Ousting the Democrat in favor of Arnold was the best move we ever made. In spite of what you might have read. :)
Keep those letters to the editor coming,

Oh, it was a "small amount" of sarin. Only enough to kill 60,000 people or so, so what's the big deal?
It's funny. My local paper did a large survey/interview with several people, getting their opinion on different topics. The results were published today. One of the people they quoted said that "We have not found any WMD at all in Iraq."
It's sad that so many people use thier local newspapers as the only source of information.

Update
The home town paper had little to say about s'e'rin, this is true.
On the otherhand they had quite a bit to say on SARIN. In the interest of fairness I must say
OOPS my bad

So are we accepting one 12 year old shell as the WMD's now? What happened to the other 49 tons, 1999 pounds?

Gee, what else do you call a weapons designed to kill a mass of people? A naughty bomb?
Seriously, what the heck do you think a Weapon of Mass Destruction is?
